Mt. Bachelor, Oregon
TSC Ski Trip February 27 - March 6, 2027
Saturday to Saturday
Trip Leader: Cheryl Mershon, 972-998-1256, hlthcare@verizon.net
Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon, is one of the most unique and appealing ski destinations in the U.S., combining expansive terrain, a long ski season, and a vibrant mountain community. Mt. Bachelor covers 4,300+ acres with 360° skiing from a 9,000-foot volcanic summit, offering everything from gentle beginner slopes to expert backcountry-style runs. The vertical drop is 3,365 feet, and there are 101 trails split among novice, intermediate, advanced, and expert levels. This variety makes it ideal for all skill levels.
The high elevation and dry, light snow create some of the best powder days in the Pacific Northwest. On bluebird days, the summit offers unbeatable panoramic views of Central Oregon and the High Cascades.
Mt. Bachelor is famous for its spring skiing, with events like the RendezVan festival, music nights, and après gatherings that keep the mountain lively. This makes it a top choice for skiers who want to stay on snow longer. It has one of the longest ski seasons in North America, typically open from mid-November through the end of May. Even in spring, it offers over 1,500 acres of skiing, with deep snowpack thanks to its 6,000-foot base elevation and over 400 inches of annual snowfall. This means you can ski months after most resorts close.
As an added bonus, lift tickets are among the lowest in the U.S., with single-day passes as low as $99 and multiday tickets under $100. The resort is also on the Ikon Pass. Rentals are available for all levels.
This ski resort is a hidden gem with a relaxed, authentic vibe compared to crowded resorts. The town of Bend offers breweries, restaurants, and outdoor activities, making it easy to enjoy the whole mountain experience.
The bottom line is that Mt. Bachelor stands out for its scale, snow quality, long season, and community spirit, making it a must-visit for skiers and snowboarders who want big mountain skiing without the crowds of larger resorts.
Join us for a full week of skiing and exploring all that Mt. Bachelor has to offer!

Equipment Rentals & Lessons - Not Available Yet
Ski Equipment Rental Discounts:
The Group Equipment Rentals attachment contains rental equipment information and associated group rates. They provide discounts on all rental equipment except on demo skis.
Rental equipment can be reserved by any group member using this link: TBD
Group members can also take advantage of group rates when they arrive on-mountain if they don’t want to reserve in advance. For anyone renting equipment the day of, they can show their group lift ticket to the cashiers at the base lodge or village rental shops, and an appropriate discount will be provided.
Ski Lessons: TBD
There are several lesson packages that we offer at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The Group Ski School Rates attachment covers all the lesson options. We offer discounts on most lessons to our visiting groups during the winter and there will be multiple ways to reserve your spot.
For adult group lessons, these are some options:
- First Time Lesson Package (not discounted) – includes lift tickets, lessons, and rental equipment for 2 days. This is meant for very beginners or those with no experience skiing or riding. Our instructors provide great tips and information to make sure folks are starting their skiing/riding experience on the right foot.
- Adult Semi-Private Lesson (only discounted for the afternoon class) – 2-hour lesson, no equipment or tickets included. You are grouped with others of a similar ability level (no more than 4 per group).
To reserve lessons, group members can register in advance using the following link-TBD This link will ask for the type of lesson and the date you would like to participate. At any time during your stay, anyone in the group will also have the option to stop by the Ski & Ride School desk at the Base Lodge to sign up for lessons. Group members will need to present their group lift ticket for the cashier to honor the group rate.
For private lessons, you have the option of 3-hour or 6-hour lessons. Although private lessons are not discounted, it will be the same price for up to 5 participants in one of these lessons. We suggest that if you plan to take a lesson with multiple participants that all of you are the same ability level or in a similar range. The instructors must teach to the lowest ability level to make sure everyone can stick together. Having a beginner and an advanced skier may not be the best combination.
To reserve a private lesson, Tom suggest you call their Ski & Ride School desk to chat with someone there. They will provide a ton of helpful information and will gather everything they need to set you up with the best instructor for your needs. Their phone number is 406-862-2909 or 406-862-2907. When calling the Ski & Ride School desk, make sure your members mention that they are part of the group, and they will honor all group rates.
Ambassador Tours:
Ambassador tours are free and offered every day at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Their team wears bright yellow jackets, and they are hard to miss at the bottom of Chair 1 (main lift) or at the summit near the top of Chair 7 (under the large trail map). Here is a link for more information about the free mountain tours – TBD
